NN Group: collective labor agreement negotiations started
22 September 2020
On September 17, 2020 De Unie a start has been made on collective bargaining. The NN CLA expires on December 31, 2020. The first round of negotiations was used to explain the various proposal letters.
Propose De Unie
The proposal letter of De Unie is here to read. The proposals of De Unie are established by the members. We deliberately chose to include only a limited number of topics in the discussion.
We have explained the wish of de Uniemembers to include agreements about working from home in the collective labor agreement. And to develop a vision of the combination of home and office work so that employees know what to expect from NN in the future. The employer also wants to make agreements about time and place independent work. That is why a joint working group is working to further elaborate the various ideas in addition to the collective labor agreement consultation. We try to work together with the employer on this because there is a shared interest.
De Unie proposes a collective structural wage increase of 3%. The employer thinks this is much too high, NN-Group says it does not want to increase salaries. We also see in other collective bargaining negotiations that employers start at the zero line and stick to it for a long time.
The employer bases the zero line on the investments required to give the company a good future, while also pointing out the expected negative financial consequences of the covid-19 problem. The employer expects inflation to be low in 2021, which means that the cost of living will not rise much, according to NN. De Unie does not share this assessment. We have asked for a financial substantiation of the employer's expectations.
The employer has this proposals explained. There are points on which agreement can be reached. But the difference in vision on salary development is of course very large.
The next meeting will be on October 14, 2020. We have agreed to discuss the salary policy in any case. De Unie has also asked for a response to our proposals.
Also by the other vakbondand submitted proposals. Here are also proposals that do not tie in well with developments within the financial sector. An example of this is that a mandatory 30-hour working week is promoted. De Unie finds a good balance between work and private life important. However, we want to achieve this by offering more room for customization and by increasing employee control over their working hours. The mandatory introduction of a 30-hour working week is not appropriate here. De Unie wants to know quickly what position NN takes in this discussion.
