Terms and conditions of employment;

The new 2022 collective labor agreement is ready and can be found at https://mitt.nl/cao-mitt-boekjes/† The trade unions are working together with the employers in the MITT and Textile Cleaning (Raltex) and the pension fund on the introduction of the new pension system. They are guided in this by external process supervisor AethiQs. In April 2022, the government is expected to introduce supplementary pension legislation so that work can continue on the contract, expiry of old rights, date of transfer and other matters to be further specified. Of course with your consent.

Working conditions MITT

Your employer is obliged to provide a safe (work) environment. The starting point for this is the execution of a so-called Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E). With the RI&E, the employer monitors all risks in the company. He has to work with the following action points to solve and/or limit the risks for you and your colleagues. Many solutions can already be found on www.modintarbocatalogue.nl† Also take a look and/or tip your works council (OR) and employer.

In the MITT we have two RI&Es; one for Fashion & Interior and one for Carpet & Textile. This takes industry-specific risks into account. The social partners have updated both RI&Es and registered them with the RI&E support centre. The Labor Inspectorate checks whether companies have an RI&E with an associated plan of approach. If this is not present, the Inspectorate may immediately issue a fine. Has your employer not yet performed an RI&E and/or does it still need to be tested? In that case, point out your employer via this link on the possibilities for a safe working environment and to avoid unnecessary costs!

Development

Social partners in the MITT have invested in your personal development in many areas in recent years. On the website www.ikbenmoi.nl you will find our wide range in the field of health, finance and learning & development. We did this with the help of an ESF subsidy that stopped at the end of 2021. Nevertheless, employers and trade unions together want this development process in the MITT to continue. We are looking at any other new subsidies and meanwhile are financing a number of projects ourselves from the MITT Social Fund.

Strategy MITT

Trade unions and employers in the MITT talk to each other about the future of the MITT and how we want to achieve it. We do this with the help of an external process supervisor. We've had a few sessions already. Subjects are discussed such as the origin of the MITT, the changes in the production chain, the scope, usefulness and necessity of the various MITT foundations and our own working method and cooperation with other parties. These are intensive and inspiring conversations that take place in a good mutual atmosphere. More on that later.

Executives

Eddy Vree of Ten Cate Outdoor Fabrics and Marco van Bergen of Tarkett BV are executives at MITT. This means that they participate in collective labor agreement committees on behalf of De Unie and contribute ideas about the collective labor agreement, pensions, working conditions and developments in the MITT sector. Does that sound interesting to you? Then contact them via marco.vanbergen@tarkett.com en e.vree@tencateoutdoorfabrics.com.
