ING: Proposal letter CLA 2023
5 September 2022
De Unie opens collective labor agreement negotiations with ING on Thursday 8 September 2022. The theme of the proposal letter from De Unie is wage, wage, wage. You can send the proposal letter here .
"The current skyrocketing inflation will cause a loss of purchasing power for an average household of no less than 6,8% in 2022, according to the most recent calculations of the CPB. The calculators use an estimated inflation for the whole of 2022 of close to 10%.” These are not our words, but ING's own words. (From Dive into the economics of ING Research of 1 September 2022).
Because the employees of ING have just come to a complete standstill for two years, there is De Unie only one possible outcome in these collective labor agreement negotiations: A significant structural salary increase that employees benefit from.
ING recognizes that all employees are affected by the high inflation. ING Research states: “If we zoom in on the different income groups, we see that virtually no group is out of the woods. Only for households with the lowest incomes, the loss of purchasing power remains relatively limited in comparison with other household types. Part of this group (up to 120% of the social minimum) will receive an energy surcharge of 1.300 euros this year.”
Now that ING has so clearly indicated that there is an exceptional situation that is causing real problems for households, this creates expectations. We are curious what ING has in mind as an employer for its own employees.
On September 9, 2022, the representative, Inge de Vries, will let you know how the first consultation went.
