ING Bank: Global commitment letter new collective labor agreement

The current one-year collective labor agreement at ING Bank will expire on 31 December 2018. This means that we will get back to work to provide you with a new collective labor agreement. In this member letter we provide insight into the process and ask about the topics for the new collective labor agreement. The social plan and the pension scheme are not on the agenda, because they are still ongoing.

Appreciate and reward study

In the CLA 2018 we agreed that a study will be conducted into 'appreciation and reward' among staff. Almost half of all ING employees took part in the survey; a great response! The subsequent in-depth discussions have now also taken place. The results of both the survey and the discussions will be discussed by the parties to the collective labor agreement on 31 October 2018. We will then also determine which other topics will be on the agenda of the negotiations.

Subjects new collective labor agreement

De Unie in any case suggests the subject of 'appreciation and reward'. We also want to discuss customization, work pressure and informal care in more detail. What topics should we put on the agenda of the negotiations?


On October 31, 2018, we will start determining the topics for the negotiations. Then we also look at the planning of the negotiation days that we have reserved up to and including March 2019. After that, the executives, with the help of the perspective memorandum 2018 of De Unie, our commitment letter with concrete proposals per subject for the new collective labor agreement. Before we submit it to ING de Uniemembers who are sent in draft.
