GKN Fokker: We're not done yet!

April 07, 2022

Unfortunately, we are not yet settled with GKN Fokker. In our opinion, the package of schemes proposed by the company does not yet offer sufficient compensation for the closure of Helmond and Hoogerheide and the move to Papendrecht. We have now spoken twice with the management and the next meeting will be held on 12 April.

We thank you for your input at the online members' meeting of March 24, 2022 and via the emails you sent De Unie have sent. That helps us in negotiations with your employer. That input is clear. There must be a good social protocol, based on the social plan. You also request compensation for the extra travel time and travel costs, especially in this time!

The employer thinks it is perfectly normal that you come along to Papendrecht on the fly. And she wants to arrange things temporarily for that. We believe that things are going too fast and that arrangements should be structural in nature. You have not asked to move the work, that decision comes from GKN Fokker. So we're not out of this yet.

You seem to be approached by some managers to talk about conditions for coming to Papendrecht. We advise you to leave that to us at this stage of the negotiations.

We negotiate with your employer on your behalf to arrive at a solid package of arrangements. You should not be the victims of the proposed move. We are confident in a good outcome, but the company still has major steps to take. Hopefully, we'll know after April 12 if that happens.

You can expect us to keep you informed. After the next round of discussions, we will sit down with you again. So keep following us!
