DAS Legal Aid: Negotiations social plan

March 03 2022

On December 31, 2021, DAS' social plan expired. The trade unions and HR DAS had a first round of negotiations on a new social plan on January 17, 2022 and the second round on February 9, 2022. Last March 2 was the third round. Below is an explanation of it and the request to give your feedback on it.

Negotiations

Although HR does not foresee large-scale reorganisations, there is a need for a social plan. DAS is based on the Balanced Labor Market Act (WAB) and the principle of 'from work to work'. DAS proposes age-differentiated severance pay. So if you are under 40, you get a factor of 1,25, between 40 and 50 1,5, between 50 and 60 2,0 and from 60 years 2,5. We look in particular at its value for employees and will come up with a counter-proposal next time.

DAS is in favor of our proposal to include a supplementary scheme in the social plan for two years. Exactly how this should look like will be discussed in the fourth round. We also discussed the three phases in the social plan, namely preventive mobility, pre-redundancy and redundancy. Does this work well or should we make it two phases? In addition to the severance pay, supplementary scheme and phasing, we also discussed other points such as a mobility budget for flex workers, social plan objection regulations and the rapid decision-makers scheme.

Continuation

The fourth and final round of negotiations is scheduled for Wednesday, March 23. We will see if we can come to an agreement together and present you with a negotiation result.
