DAS: Negotiations social plan

January 25 2022

On November 22, 2021, the trade unions and HR DAS evaluated the social plan and explored a possible new social plan. You can find more about this in this newsletter. On January 17, 2022, we had a first round of negotiations with HR about a new social plan. Below is an explanation of this and the question what you think about it?

Negotiation

The social plan, which expired on 31 December 2021, has functioned as a safety net during reorganisations for the past three years at DAS. HR does not foresee large-scale reorganization plans, but does see the value of a social plan. In a new social plan, DAS is based on the Balanced Labor Market Act (WAB). The transition payment in the WAB is lower than in the WWZ. A possible new social plan is therefore not cost neutral. The trade unions are committed to this. We therefore want compensation in the applied factor and other items from the social plan.

The trade unions have submitted a list of points about the social plan to HR that are eligible for discussion and/or amendment. This includes the proposal for an external chairperson for the social plan objection committee, the definition of a suitable position, the use of the place makers scheme and the exemption from work. HR and the trade unions have discussed all other points in addition to the severance payment. The next time we will see if we will get here together.

Continuation

The second (digital) negotiation round is scheduled for Wednesday 9 February. After that, no new appointment was made. Whether this is necessary depends on whether or not a negotiation outcome has been reached.
