Cao Banks: Voting result

February 28 2022

Results of the collective labor agreement vote

The members of De Unie were able to cast their vote on the negotiation result for the CAO Banks. The result is now known. About 80% of the members voted positively.

The motivation to vote in favour varies. Most members think that the whole package together offers a good result. Others are happy to receive at least some salary increase and therefore vote in favour. They also indicate that they do not consider this salary increase appropriate in view of inflation. The approximately 20% of the members who voted against it mainly state that the financial section is insufficient for them. This is a signal that De Unie will certainly pass it on to employers. If inflation remains this high, salary demand for the 2023 collective labor agreement will become higher and even more important for members.

Results other trade unions

The results at the other trade unions are diverse. The members of FNV voted against. On Wednesday 2 March 2022, we will have consultations with all parties to the collective labor agreement about this situation.

Pension law amendment

The appointment is scheduled for 2 March to discuss further details of the collective labor agreement. We then discuss, among other things, the pension provisions in the collective labor agreement. This topic will play an important role in our consultations in the coming months. The government aims to introduce the Future Pensions Act as of 1 January 2023. The draft legislation is already known and we know that the collective labor agreement will no longer be in line with the legislation. It is therefore necessary to adjust the collective labor agreement in good time.

Pension consultation

The pension schemes of the banks covered by this collective labor agreement vary widely. The employers have an advantage here because they know all the pension schemes. De Unie does not yet have this information. It is important to make up for this knowledge gap, because then I can better represent the interests of the members.

Request

I, advocate Inge de Vries, would therefore like to ask you to send me the pension scheme that applies to your company. You can also contact me if you want to check if one of your colleagues has already shared this information with De Unie or if you have any other questions. If I have insight into your pension scheme, I can also better assess what to emphasize during the negotiations.
