Want to work as a self-employed person? Keep this in mind

Have you always dreamed of becoming self-employed? You're not the only one. Yet many people don't. Because it simply will not happen. Or because they do not want to give up their secure permanent employment. A reorganization or dismissal can 'often give the push' to take the plunge and become a self-employed person.

Starting during WW
If you become unemployed, you will usually be eligible for unemployment benefits. The UWV offers various options for starting your own business from unemployment benefit, while retaining your benefit. This way you can take your first steps as a self-employed person while you have the certainty of a fixed basic income. You do need to get permission for this from the UWV.

Own business
To determine the amount of your unemployment benefit, the UWV checks how much you worked in the 12 months before you became unemployed. Did you already have your own business before submitting your application for unemployment benefit? Then the UWV takes into account the average number of hours you worked as a self-employed person per week. They call this exempted hours. These hours do not affect unemployment benefit.

More and more self-employed people
The number of people starting as self-employed has increased enormously in recent years. De Unie also receives more and more questions from self-employed workers, for example about drawing up contracts and general terms and conditions. Do you want us to look at your assignment agreement or do a legal check on the conditions drawn up by you? We are happy to help you! Even if you are not a member. Then take a look at Unie Direct

Entrepreneurial collective
In addition, we would like to point out Het Ondernemerscollectief. As a self-employed person you can go here for a variety of matters, from tax questions and questions about collection to downloading model contracts, discount on self-employed insurance and discount on your accounting.
