Aegon: A little bit of everything

In this newsletter I, representative Emanuel Geurts, inform you about the steps towards the collective labor agreement negotiations and I ask for your opinion on the 2021 annual report and Aegon's new purpose.

Survey and Employee Sessions

You were recently asked to indicate via the new collective labor agreement and social plan survey which themes you consider important and which subjects you think should be discussed at the collective labor agreement table. No less than 46% of Aegon employees completed the survey. The top 3 results are: time and leave, hybrid working and vitality and wellbeing. We see that employees consider financial compensation for the loss of a job most important in the social plan. Employees also want to be involved in the consultation on the collective labor agreement and the social plan via intranet and polls. You can take a closer look at all the survey results on Aegon's intranet.

With these results, we entered into discussions on 14, 15 and 17 March with a number of (English-speaking) employees from all entities in the Netherlands. The aim was to gain more in-depth knowledge of the results and themes such as time and leave, hybrid working and vitality and wellbeing. They were open and valuable conversations that help us on the way to a new collective labor agreement and social plan.

CLA process

In order to arrive at a new collective labor agreement and social plan as of 1 July 2022, we use a collective labor agreement survey, digital employee meetings, collective labor agreement work groups and an external process supervisor. The external process supervisor has now been appointed, the 2022 collective labor agreement survey has been conducted and the employee meetings have been held. We still have two collective labor agreement working groups to do and then we cane April will start negotiations for a new collective labor agreement and social plan. I'll get back to you shortly to get your input on that.

Aegon has released its report for the year 2021. In it you will find information about (financial) performance, strategy, personnel and new purpose.
