Aegon: update

April 20, 2022

In this message I, representative Emanuel Geurts, inform you about the postponed start of the negotiations for the new collective labor agreement and the new social plan as of 1 July 2022. I also draw your attention to a message about Global Grading, the 'Glass ceiling ' at Aegon and the general shareholders' meeting.

Start negotiations

Earlier I asked you about your commitment to a new collective labor agreement and a new social plan at Aegon. Thank you very much for all the responses to it. I can use this well when drafting the letter of commitment of De Unie† Initially, we were to start negotiations on 14 April. However, Aegon informed us that they needed more time to prepare for the negotiations. We will now start presenting the letters of intent to each other on Thursday 28 April.

Global Grading

All preparations are ready. The objection and appeals procedure has been set up, an official secretary has been appointed and the staffing of the objections and appeals committee has been arranged. This week and next week, employees will receive a letter informing them that there has been no change in job scale, the position has been classified one scale lower or the position has been classified one scale higher. If you have any questions about your letter, please contact the HR Desk/Global Grading.

Glass ceiling

In the current collective labor agreement we have agreed a study into a possible glass ceiling at Aegon. The results of this report are now available, and Aegon has also devoted a press release to them. A message about this will also appear on the intranet. If you hadn't seen this yet, read the message via https://nieuws.aegon.nl/glazen-plafond-aegon-wil-betere-match-met-vrouwelijk-toptalent/.

AVA

The general shareholders' meeting will be held on 31 May. On the agenda is not only the 2021 annual report, but also the 2021 remuneration report, which includes the business performance and the HR and remuneration policy for Aegon. All documentation can be found at https://www.aegon.com/agm/† I'm curious about your opinion about it. Will you let me know?
