CLA process

In order to arrive at a new collective labor agreement and social plan as of 1 July 2022, we use a collective labor agreement survey, digital employee meetings, collective labor agreement work groups and an external process supervisor.

Michel Donners is once again our external supervisor. The 2022 collective labor agreement survey has been completed and the results are in. In the upcoming employee meetings, we will present the highlights and discuss the topics from the collective labor agreement and the social plan with employees.

The employees have received an invitation for 14, 15 and 17 March.

  • Monday, March 14 from 15.00 p.m. – 16.00 p.m. (NL session)
  • Tuesday 15 March from 11.00 a.m. – 12.00 noon (NL session)
  • Thursday 17 March from 14.00 p.m. – 15.00 p.m. (ENG session)

In addition, we will have a separate discussion with Young Aegon about how a collective labor agreement is drawn up and who has what role in it and at what time.

Stand up why/how/what
This consultation stems from the collective labor agreement agreement to increase employees' awareness of the theme of sustainable employability. This is done through a communication program that focuses on the importance of sustainable employability (WHY) with inspiration for how to get started with sustainable employability (HOW) and that offers insight into the possibilities/facilities in the field of sustainable employability (WHAT). . The campaign ran for the past two years and has now been completed. The social partners are still going to evaluate the campaign in periodic consultations, so it will be continued.

Global Grading
The parties have agreed in the collective labor agreement to switch to Global Grading from Willis Towers Watson (WTW). Agreements have been made about preconditions, a global plan of action with timelines, employee participation, the role of the Central Works Council and the trade unions, policy for lower job classifications and the objection and appeal procedure. The transition to WTW is divided into two project phases. In project phase 1, the current classifications will be recalibrated based on the KFH method. In project phase 2, the conversion of the representative reference functions and the other functions to WTW takes place. Every month we have a meeting about the steps in this HR project.

directing team
In this monthly meeting, trade unions, HR and the Central Works Council discuss current affairs at Aegon and we work on the implementation of collective labor agreements. Nearly all collective labor agreements have now been implemented. There are two more that need to be discussed, namely the research into a glass ceiling at Aegon and the concrete implementation of the work code. As soon as I know more, I'll get back to you.
