Adjustment of Saab collective labor agreement proposals

I would like to sincerely thank the members for the responses I have received to the draft collective labor agreement proposals for the new collective labor agreement. In this newsletter I would like to inform you about the changes to the draft proposal letter and about the first negotiation about the collective labor agreement.

Propose changes to the concept

You can find the amended proposal letter here. The comments of the members who responded after the closing period were also taken into account. The adjustments are as follows:

  • Income
    It has been indicated that the wage demand is too low. This has now been adjusted to a collective increase to 3% and an individual increase to 2%.
  • Inconvenience allowance
    Based on the comments, this proposal has been added. We propose to increase the inconvenience allowance (article 15 CLA) to € 75,00 and we also propose to index this inconvenience allowance annually with the percentage that is agreed for a collective wage increase.
  • Vital for retirement
    In the draft proposal letter, it is stated under sustainable employability that the parties will jointly start an investigation into the possibility for employees to opt for an adjusted working time. The rationale behind this proposal is that this is made possible for older employees as well as for younger ones.

Short report on collective bargaining

Contrary to tradition, it has not been possible to reach an agreement in principle today. The employer is of the opinion that the proposals of the vakbondand are not entirely in line with the possibilities that the organization has. Obviously, this mainly refers to wage demand. A follow-up appointment has been made for Friday, January 26, 2018 to continue the negotiations. In the meantime, the employer will inform employees about the current situation within Saab.

Invitation member meeting

In order to inform our members about the state of affairs regarding the negotiations and to prepare the collective bargaining agreement with the employer, I would like to invite the members for a members meeting on Thursday 18 January 2018 at 13.00:XNUMX pm in the central hall (Mensa).

Involvement

There is a break with the tradition of agreeing a collective labor agreement in one half day. Our members have expressed themselves clearly about their wishes and De Unie would like to go along with this. These wishes are likely to match the wishes of the disorganized colleague. Now is the time for him or her to join in too De Unie so that we achieve a good result together!

  • Our members benefit from the knowledge and expertise in areas such as pension and career advice of a modern trade association.
