De Unie has been active for many years and is well represented in the internal consultation at Tata Steel, the steel company in the IJmond and the largest industrial company in the Netherlands. Tata Steel employs more than 11.000 people in the Netherlands. Approximately 9000 of these work at departments at the location in IJmuiden. The company also has offices in Maastricht, Oosterhout, Nieuwegein and Moerdijk, among others. The company is the sixth largest steel concern in the world. De Unie is committed to collective bargaining, but Tata Steel also supports employees with questions about work & income.
