Retirement is often a far-from-your-bed show, a complex concern for later. Yet it is good to get a grip on it, even if 'later' is far from being 'now'. What about our members and followers on socials? Do they think they know the best when it comes to their own pension?

Little confidence in own knowledge
We have mapped out how much our members know about their own pension through a mini-study. Turns out, not much. That is the most logical conclusion if we list the most important results:
- The nearly 4.000 participants give themselves an average of 6,5.
- 42 percent rate their own knowledge with a 6 or lower.
- 20 percent gives themselves a 5 or lower.
- The younger the respondent, the lower the average grade:
- People over 60 give their own knowledge a 6,8
- forties and fifties a 6,3
- thirties a 6
- twenty-somethings a 5,7
There's work to be done
So there is still a lot of room for improvement:
- More than 54 percent of the respondents who gave themselves a 6 or lower understand this: they want to do something about their knowledge deficit.
- A third just don't know how.
- a quarter will do their own research.
- a fifth would like help from a professional.
