In this message we inform you about the negotiations for a new collective labor agreement for health insurers. Thursday September 19 was the last round of negotiations. Below is a short review of that.

no deal
Thursday evening at a quarter past eleven, Emanuel Geurts got into his car, disappointed, on his way home. We had not managed to close a deal for a new collective labor agreement. During the drive, he replayed the film in his head. What went well and what could we have done differently? How would it have been possible? The atmosphere was good, substantive outstanding points were bridged and creative thinking was done on the last points, namely salary and duration.
Various scenarios were reviewed; shorter and longer terms, wage increases more distributed or not. Calculating with the numbers we mention, (mutually) consulting and calling the people who are not at the negotiating table but are important for the decision-making. During the suspensions we talk to each other about the developments in national politics and we also follow a bit of football.
Back home, Emanuel has lost some of that tension and he manages to put things into perspective. That's handy, because otherwise he'll still be awake because of that, and that's not the intention, of course. So we're not there yet.
New attempt
We have put Wednesday evening September 25th in the agenda to investigate whether we can still reach an agreement with each other. The members will then receive a new newsletter.
