The 2nd Chamber voted in favor of the new pension law in December 2022 and in January 2023 the 1st Chamber started considering the law. And they do, as it turns out. They invite experts to get information and have already formulated more than a thousand questions about the pension law. The questions range from fundamental to practical and very detailed. The senators have asked Minister Schouten to reply within four weeks. You can find out more about the whole process at https://www.werkenaanonspensioen.nl/.

De Unie recently informed its members about pension developments. You will find the given presentation here. For the wider context it is better to watch the whole meeting back through this one link. The SBZ pension fund also informs its participants. For example, a series of webinars on various components can be followed via https://www.sbzpensioen.nl/webinars. The fund also explains what the new pension system means for your income for later https://www.sbzpensioen.nl/pensioenakkoord.

The trade unions and employers are discussing a new pension scheme among themselves and also with the pension fund. For example, we recently discussed the timeline up to the introduction of the new scheme. If the parties opt for the flexible pension scheme, the pension provider APS can implement this as of 1-1-2025. If we opt for the solidarity pension scheme, this will be a later commencement date. We will have further discussions in the coming months. These should lead to a new regulation in the last quarter. But then there must be a completed pension legislation process and that is not so certain. So to be continued.
