Employer proposals
During the previous round of negotiations we indicated that the employers' offer was insufficient. The employers' delegation then consulted with their supporters and came up with a new bod with Appendix come.
Employers propose 3,5% as of January 1, 2025 with a term of 18 months. The reasoning is the falling inflation, higher costs of supervision and regulation, foreign competitive pressure, the price of the entire package (day off May 5 and minimum wage to 16 euros per hour) and the fact that (life) insurers do not or partially (cannot) increase their prices. Last but not least, employers value their policy freedom for company-specific & individual remuneration.
Since there has been very limited movement following the previous offer, the trade unions have not made a counter-offer but have proposed to take a breather and enter into consultation with the membership to determine how to proceed.
Constituency consultation
The unions will jointly request their members to find out what they think of the employers' offer and what choices the members want to make. This request will first be coordinated among themselves and will be sent to you later in December.
Continuation
After the inquiry and consultation with the constituency, it is good to discuss the follow-up with the employers. The collective labor agreement parties have scheduled a new consultation for this on Friday, January 17, 2025.
