Your collective labor agreement and industry

What do you want in your new collective labor agreement?

11 September 2024
In this message we inform everyone about the generally binding declaration of the collective labor agreement and ask the members for input for the new collective labor agreement. In addition, new pension information is available and we would like to draw attention to the work pressure meter within the sector.

High

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment published the collective labor agreement for the Insurance Industry in the Government Gazette on August 27, 2024: https://zoek.officielebekendmakingen.nl/As of that date, the collective labor agreement has been declared generally binding for all companies and employees in the sector.

New collective labor agreement requested

At the end of the year, the collective labor agreement for insurance companies expires and a new collective labor agreement has to be negotiated. Four rounds of negotiations have now been planned. The start of the negotiations is on October 14, followed by November 4 and 11, and finally December 9, 2024. Members are asked to pass on their commitment to the new collective labor agreement to the lobbyist. We would like to receive this before Monday, September 30, 2024 via emanuel.geurts@unie.nl. Thanks in advance!

Retirement

In the last negotiations we also agreed on a pension scheme that companies in the sector could work on with their personnel (representation). The Dutch Association of Insurers has created a separate web page where pension information for employers can be found: Pension information for insurersIn addition to the pension information, there is a link to the webinar on the Wtp and also a visual step-by-step plan, step-by-step_plan_for-a-good-pension-what-you-need-to-do-now_2024.pdf (verzekeraars.nl)This is not only interesting for employers but certainly also for employees and personnel representatives.

Workload

Research has shown that more than one third of employees who report sick suffer from stress and work pressure. It is therefore important not to let it get that far. In the insurance sector we have a work pressure meter so that action can be taken in time. You can read more about this on https://www.verzekeraars.nl/publicaties/actueel/werkdruktemeter-helpt-in-de-strijd-tegen-stress.
