Social agenda

The previous social agenda expired at the end of 2021 and the social partners in the insurance sector wanted to renew it. Representatives of employers and trade unions have started working on this under the guidance of an external supervisor and the result is now available. The social calendar 2022 – 2024 contains three concrete points that are addressed, namely diversity, recognizing talent and labor mobility.

Collective Labor Agreement working groups

In the collective labor agreement we have made a number of study agreements that the social partners are now working on in various collective labor agreement working groups. The Working Conditions Catalog working group is studying the working pressure gauge and wants to deliver the renewed health and safety catalog before the summer. The pension working group deals with matters such as the Future Pensions Act. The working group believes it is important to include small and medium-sized companies in particular and to provide them with information (in a timely manner). A webinar is therefore being organized for employers in which it is explained what the law entails and how you can anticipate it. There may also be one for works councils. The job and wage structure working group is engaged in the development of a new, modern job and wage structure. The job and salary structure to be developed will replace the relevant articles in the collective labor agreement.

Pension Act

The Cabinet recently announced new pension legislation. The trade union federation VCP (where De Unie is affiliated with) has given a first reaction to it https://www.vcp.nl/nieuwe-pensioenwet-fundament-is-gelegd/† The new law supplements the previous pension law with concrete elaborations of the two pension contracts, namely the flexible and the solidary pension contract. The bill will be discussed in the 2nd and then 1st Chamber later this year with the intention of having the law take effect on January 1, 2023. From that date, the parties to the collective labor agreement can switch to one of the two pension contracts. Whether this succeeds depends not only on politicians, but also on the pension providers. They have to put the new legislation in their systems to be able to implement the choices made by the social partners. Trade unions, employers and the government have created a website to provide information to employees and employers about pensions. You can find everything about the legislative process, both pension contracts and questions and answers on https://www.werkenaanonspensioen.nl/.
