On 9 February, the trade unions and UWV made a final attempt to reach a collective agreement. The parties have done their utmost to find a solution for the major difference of opinion about the salary increase. We also discussed the other employment conditions from our proposals letters, including the travel allowance. Both employer and trade unions have made great strides towards meeting each other's needs. The bottleneck remains the structural salary increase. We didn't get here.
No follow-up consultation
Trade unions have established that there is no point in continuing the consultation with UWV, we are out of negotiations. This means that we are not planning any new collective labor agreement consultations for the time being. We will have to convince UWV in a different way that they should make a better salary offer. The expectations of UWV employees are higher than what UWV now wants or can offer. We have agreed with UWV that they themselves will inform employees of the latest offer from UWV. We expect your employer to inform you about this early next week.
Next steps
- De Unie organizes together with the other trade unions Wednesday, February 15 at 16.00 p.m a general employee meeting. In this meeting we will explain to you what the latest status of the collective labor agreement negotiations is. And we'll take you through the next steps as we take action.
- Trade unions have set up a joint action committee, with the members of the action committee (employees of UWV) we discuss which steps to follow.
Willingness to take action
De Unie has launched a survey to investigate the willingness to take action among UWV employees. In a short period of time, almost 1200 employees completed this survey. This showed a great willingness of the staff to participate in activities that should follow now. We are counting on being able to persuade the UWV to offer a higher salary together with the employees.
