The negotiation result
The negotiations were difficult. As we wrote last week, yesterday's discussion was exclusively about the aspect of purchasing power compensation. We have come a long way with Tata Steel since two weeks ago. From the "zero line" that Tata Steel initially had in mind, we have arrived at a result that compensates the purchasing power of a large group of employees for the coming year, but not for all employees. Moreover, we were unable to agree on a structural wage increase. The purchasing power compensation consists of one-off payments. The atmosphere of crisis rightly dripped from the negotiations.
The negotiation result looks like this:
- A collective labor agreement with a term from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026.
- The agreements in the current collective labor agreement remain intact. We have made new agreements on the "wages" component.
- The one-off payments total €1.000 net, of which €300 is conditional. What does this look like? You will receive:
- A one-off compensation of €350 net, payment in April 2025.
- A one-off compensation of €350 net, payment in January 2026.
- A conditional one-off compensation of €300 net. Payment of this compensation is linked to achieving the EBITDA result in accordance with the TSN 2025/2026 annual plan. In January 2026, Tata Steel and the unions will sit down together to see whether Tata Steel will achieve the EBITDA result at the end of the coming financial year.
If this is successful, the idea is to pay the net compensation of €300 in March 2026. - All aforementioned amounts apply to full-time employment. For part-timers, the amounts apply pro rata.
- The reimbursements also apply to students.
Advance notice of joint members meeting
De Unie and her fellow unions are once again organising a joint members meeting to explain the negotiation results. We will hold that members meeting on Monday April 14 2025.
