Tata Steel: Members' meeting on the Future Pensions Act

November 26 2024

In the newsletter of 11 October 2024, we informed the members about the status of our discussions on the new pension scheme at Tata Steel according to the Future Pensions Act (WTP). This pension scheme has been agreed upon almost completely. De Unie and her fellow unions have not yet reached an agreement with Tata Steel on the length of the new pension contract. We are at an impasse on that.

When will an explanation of the new WTP pension scheme be provided?

In the same newsletter we asked members when they would like to receive further explanation of the new WTP pension scheme. As soon as possible, or after the pension scheme has been fully finalised?

A considerable number of our members responded to the call to give their opinion on this. The outcome was that a small number of our members do not want an explanation. Of the members who do want an explanation, approximately 50% want it as soon as possible and 50% at the moment that the arrangement has been definitively agreed.

We have therefore decided to organize a members meeting soon, in which the advocate will provide an explanation of the WTP regulation. As soon as the regulation is final and you can vote on the content, we will organize another members meeting to provide the explanation.

Invitation to members meeting; explanation of Tata Steel WTP pension scheme

In the upcoming members meeting, the advocate will explain what the new Tata Steel pension scheme will look like. In addition, we will compare it with the current pension scheme and provide an explanation of relevant pension concepts.

The members meeting will take place on;

Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 12:00 PM
room 4 Akerendam in 2H.27 Conference Center.

Members are cordially invited to attend this members meeting. Of course, you can also bring a colleague who is not a member.
