Sweco – CLA update – negotiation agreement

April 07, 2023

The members have made their voices heard clearly. The submitted final result has been rejected. The clear vote and the comments during the vote resulted in a better proposal. We negotiated again for a day with the entire AVO committee and we came to a negotiation agreement. We think this largely meets the comments made during the vote. You can negotiate the agreement here read in full. This week we explained the agreement with the AVO committee and the vote has now opened. We call on the members to vote and, above all, to indicate in the comments what they think of the agreement.

The change from the previous bid

The volume shown in the matrix is the same as last year, but the percentages have decreased. They are not halved as previously indicated. Why are the percentages down? The workforce this year is different from last year, the distribution of ratings is different, and the promotion budget is also included in the volume of the matrix.

The matrix is clear and established, but we have not yet decided that it will become part of the collective labor agreement. That has been the call of the employees in the mood. It was also indicated during our digital meetings that you think that the matrix should be fixed in the collective labor agreement, because otherwise it is unclear what is being negotiated at the collective bargaining table. The unions agree. We will continue to discuss this with Sweco's management in the next round of negotiations.

Why was the collective wage increase from September pushed to December?

The percentage has gone up, but the time is late. This is a way of not changing this year's budget for the board. We are responding to the call for an increase of at least 7% by the end of the year. Some wondered if this would have an impact on next year's negotiations, but it shouldn't. With this 7% we repair a large part of last year's inflation. The new negotiations will look at this year's inflation figures. The management has indicated that they see this increase in part as a mortgage on the future. At the end of this year we will also be able to see how the increased rates have been put in place in the market. During the new round of negotiations, we start the conversation with each other using the information of that moment.

The follow-up process

Voting is open and will continue until Wednesday, April 19. We meet that day with the AVO committee to discuss the result and then the result is communicated to all Sweco employees. If the majority votes in favour, a new collective agreement will be drawn up. If there is a vote against, the parties will have to discuss the content of the agreement again. In both cases it is important for us to know what you think of the agreement in concrete terms, so please use the comments field properly. As you can see now, that really influences what is ultimately determined in your collective agreement.
