Last Friday (December 1, 2023) we were also surprised by your employer with the announcement about a new but larger reorganization, after many reorganizations in recent months. The employer stated the reason for this was the decline in turnover for a number of consecutive quarters and an increase in costs.

Cost reduction
Signify will significantly change the current structure to 4 vertical Units to reduce costs and better serve customers, which would allow growth to be achieved again.
Cost savings at what cost?
Our question as to how many employees this would affect was not answered. Based on the information we received from the employer, we had to figure that out ourselves. Signify did not deny that this could probably involve approximately 300 employees.
When is the end in sight?
We find this decision very surprising and wonder where this will all lead in the future with regard to the future prospects of the employees at Signify.
Just before the holidays, we can imagine that you and your colleagues are also disappointed. After the many reorganizations and ever-decreasing employment at Signify, we are once again confronted with a new major reorganization.
Who still has prospects for the future?
In addition to job losses, this will certainly also lead to great uncertainty among employees who are not affected. They will now seriously wonder whether they still have a future at Signify. When will the reduction in staff stop and when will peace return to the organization? There is no prospect of a new collective labor agreement yet and the current social plan ends on 1-1-2024.
The best motivation is job security!
Where should employees get their motivation to put their shoulders to the wheel to get the organization back on its feet if job security cannot be provided in the future at Signify? Apparently Signify's management is less concerned about employees' concerns about the future. They assume that those who have not been affected by the reorganizations so far will continue to work at Signify with just as much pleasure.
Uncertainty until March 2024
For many who have already been informed by their employer that he or she will most likely lose his/her job, the uncertainty may last until March next year.
