Signify: Feedback on first round of collective labor agreement negotiations

November 25 2024

The collective labor agreement negotiations in the past period have not led to a new collective labor agreement for Signify. The main reason for this was the employer's low wage offer. In addition, almost all other proposals from our side were rejected. At the same time, the response from the members was insufficient to take further action, because the willingness to take action among the employees was unfortunately very low.

Ultimately, the employer, at our request, unilaterally applied the wage offer within Signify. In the meantime, we have had several informal consultations with the employer to discuss how we can proceed. These discussions showed that Signify still wants to reach a new collective labor agreement with the trade union. The employer has indicated that it wants to make every effort to achieve a good result for the employees, of course within the economic possibilities of the company.

For this reason we have decided to sit down with the employer again. The negotiations are being conducted on the basis of the proposals of De Unie, which are largely in line with our previous proposals.

The first meeting took place last Friday, November 22. During this meeting, all parties explained their proposals. The employer further explained Signify's proposals. The conversation took place in a pleasant and constructive atmosphere. At the next meeting, we will start the actual negotiations.

The next meeting is scheduled for December 3. We will of course inform you of the developments as soon as possible.
