Signify: 2nd round of collective labor agreement negotiations

November 11 2022

On November 7, 2022, we discussed a new collective labor agreement at Signify with the employer for the second time.

During this meeting, we discussed in particular the following three main themes:

  1. Pay raise

The employer proposes to increase the wages by 5% per 1-4-2023 on the first € 38.000. In addition, you will receive 2% on the rest of your salary. You will also receive a one-time payment of
€ 1.600.-. This achieves a structural salary increase of 2,29% over 12 months. That is too little and too late. Inflation is currently above 10%.

  2. Central Social Plan (CSP)

The employer wants to cut back on the CSP (Central Social Plan) by canceling the calculation of the severance pay based on the subdistrict court formula. And then switch to the calculation according to the transition payment 2022 by a factor of 1.65. We will not accept any deterioration in this!

  3. Working from home scheme and allowance

The employer wants to maintain its “Office is a workplace” principle. This means that the employer does not give you control over your working hours and workplace. The employer decides where and when you can work. You must ask for permission from your work every time you could work from home. We believe that the employer must have confidence in the employees that they are able to determine their working hours and workplace themselves without this having adverse consequences for his/her work.

As you can see from the employer's proposals above, we are very far from each other to arrive at a new acceptable collective labor agreement for Signify. We believe that a new collective labor agreement should be drawn up soon with a wage increase that should be able to compensate for the current inflation and price increase. That is why, starting next week, together with the other trade unions, in addition to our members, we will also inform all other Signify employees by distributing a joint pamphlet for Signify's work locations. This will take place in the morning and afternoon in front of the entrance and/or exit of the offices and work locations. Let your other colleagues know as well.

If you want to be kept informed about further developments, keep following our newsletters in the coming weeks.

If you have any questions about this, you can contact the representative Suat Koetloe via suat.koetloe@unie.nl or call 06-5252 2061.
