Explanation De Unie

The explanation of our proposal letter emphasized the importance of maintaining purchasing power. For several years now, salary growth at NN has not been high enough to keep pace with employees' purchasing power.

De Unie conducted a purchasing power survey in 2024 and 2025. This provides a good picture of how workers perceive their financial situation.

Some key findings from the research:

  • Necessary expenses have risen in recent years for approximately 80% of the Dutch population. Energy costs, health insurance, rent, and grocery costs are frequently mentioned. This leads to feelings of helplessness and worrying about essential expenses. Young people report feeling helpless more than in 2024, and all groups report this increased worry.
  • The majority of respondents believe that price increases should be compensated by collective wage increases;

Compared to 2024, there is less understanding if the price increase is not fully compensated by collective wage increases. A movement that De Unie This is also something our members at NN see. The company is making good profits, but employees often feel they're being shortchanged. Dissatisfaction with this is higher than in previous years.

How further

Consultation 14 October

The next collective bargaining agreement meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. It has been agreed to discuss the financial proposals then. There is a significant difference between NN's initial wage offer and the proposals from De Unie and the other unions on the other. The collective bargaining agreement parties also disagree on the profit-sharing scheme. De Unie Proposes a profit-sharing scheme as an important component of the salary agreement. NN did not include this topic in its proposal letter.

The previous collective bargaining agreement stipulated a joint study on the topic of faster advancement through the salary scale. This study group has not yet produced any concrete results, but the parties have jointly prepared for the negotiations.

Consultation November 6
