Philips: reorganization

October 24, 2022

In the Netherlands, this will affect approximately 800 employees (including temporary and temporary workers).

Incomprehensible

We are scared of this. These are huge numbers. Colleagues who are suddenly no longer needed by Philips, while the workload at Philips has been very high for a long time. For that reason, we cannot understand why colleagues are redundant.

It is slowly becoming a habit at Philips for the newly appointed CEOs to immediately reorganize. Former CEO Frans van Houten had to prune to grow and his successor, the new CEO Roy Jakobs, will also prune to survive. Apparently Van Houten's strategy to prune has not been good, so that even more employees will now lose their jobs.

We want explanation

That is incomprehensible to us and that is why we want an explanation from the management of Philips why the work could easily be done with fewer people. What does this cutback mean for the future of the employees who are left behind? And what does this mean for the quality of the work?

Consultation

We will soon again consult with the management about the above questions, among other things. Keep following our newsletters to stay informed of further developments.

Employees who are at risk of losing their job can contact our Service Center for legal advice via sc@unie.nl or by calling 0345-851963.
