Philips: Feedback on request for CEO interview

March 24 2025

The joint trade unions have requested a meeting with the CEO of Philips NV, Roy Jacobs, and the President of Philips Netherlands, Sylvia van Es. This request stems from our growing concerns about the ongoing reorganizations and the associated job losses in the Netherlands. Our central question is and remains: what is the future perspective of Philips and its employees in the Netherlands?

Explanation of 2024 annual figures – reorganisations

On March 17, 2025, we had a meeting about the financial situation of Philips. During this meeting, we asked questions about both the current and future financial position of the company. Although we received some clarification, we have not yet received satisfactory answers to important issues. For example, there will be a further explanation of what the reorganizations have contributed to the operating result. In this context, we know that the results are based on important factors such as the product portfolio, production volumes, product quality and efficiency of the organization. What has tightening the belt yielded and contributed to the results of the company and the fitness of the organization?

Conversation with Sylvia van Es

Philips has indicated that Sylvia van Es is able to answer our questions. For this reason, we will meet with her on May 19, 2025. She is ultimately responsible for Philips in the Netherlands. Depending on the outcome of this meeting, we will assess whether a meeting with the CEO of Philips is still necessary. Our request for a meeting with the CEO remains valid for the time being.

Input is needed!

Members are given the opportunity to ask questions to Sylvia van Es via us. You can send the questions that concern you daily regarding your employment and future prospects by e-mail to me via suat.koetloe@unie.nl. This is possible until March 31, 2025. Don't miss this opportunity and take advantage of it! The more questions and concerns we share, the better we can prepare for this important meeting. We will bundle all questions and submit them to Philips on behalf of the employees. After the meeting, we will inform everyone as soon as possible about the company's response.
