Philips: 3rd round of collective bargaining

December 15 2022

On 13 December, we negotiated a new collective labor agreement with Philips for the third time.

Philips used that day mainly for repetitions and not for ideas or movements to meet us. To be honest, we therefore see few signs in Philips' attitude that we can continue the negotiations in a constructive manner.

The biggest gap is between the wage increase that we want at least (6%) and what the employer has offered so far (3,5% per May).

The compensation for working from home and travel expenses also lags behind other employers and our wishes. The employer still does not want to take the phasing out of the severance payment in the current CSP off the table.

But also other suggestions from De Unie that have so far been rejected by the employer remain undiscussable, such as expansion of the RVU scheme, supplementation of wages and pension accrual during birth/parental leave, or better indexation of pensions.

Based on this disappointing meeting, we have decided, together with the other trade unions, to take a step back now. We will exchange ideas with our members about how to proceed before we talk further with Philips.

That is why we ask the members to email their opinion and any ideas about what you, as a Philips employee, think of this situation.

You can express your opinion via email address suat.koetloe@unie.nl

Your opinion and any new ideas are important in determining our commitment to achieving a good result for your collective labor agreement!
