OCI: Collective Agreement 2023

December 12 2022

As shared with you after our previous meeting, it was uncertain whether OCI could sit down with us on Wednesday, December 7. The gap between what OCI offered and what employee organizations asked for is the reason for OCI to consider.

Mandate

On Friday 2 December, OCI informed us that it is working to get more room for negotiation within the group: a larger mandate to improve OCI's wage offer. That would have been a good thing. The message conveyed by the poster campaign has strengthened our words at the negotiating table.

Consultations on 7 December nevertheless continued . . .

. . . but then to continue talking about the (cancelled) EVT and the setup of MyChoice. Furthermore, there was no negotiation. Gert-Jan and Mirjam were missing. There has been talk with the going man and coming woman at Compensation & Benefits. That made it a somewhat strange round III.

Nothing to the detriment of these colleagues, but a conversation in which you might want to come to a decision is then not possible. Incidentally, this later also became clear from the content of the conversation and what OCI put on the table.

OCI now believes that it can and wants to include the attendance bonus of the continuous in these discussions. In our opinion, this is a different collective labor agreement article and does not fall under the current cancellation of the EVT scheme from OCI.

Next round

As a result, we have not made much progress with this round. In this way little remains of the intention previously expressed by OCI to make agreements for 1 before 2023 January. A round IV cannot be expected before mid-January 2023.
