In the message of January 18, 2024, I broadly outlined the state of affairs after negotiation round III.
- The list of “changes” was reduced to a limited number of main issues on themes such as workload and sustainable employability. An integrated approach is still a long way off. It is clear that there is a connection between company state pension, generation pact, extra leave prior to retirement, etc.
- The structural wage increase offered remained at 3% as of March 1, 2024, for a collective labor agreement for a period of 14 months instead of 12 months.
- Bonuses also remained as they were.
Employee organizations would consider how we would respond to this.
The consultation on January 24 was canceled because there was little confidence that it would take us much further.
How do the members view this state of affairs? You let us know!
It can be concluded from the responses of the members that the offer of 3% is far too little. Especially considering the inflation figures and especially for a contract with a term of 14 months. Some members suggest leaving the bonus scheme unchanged (for this collective labor agreement year). People are in favor of a higher collective wage increase (structural).
It is disappointing that the employer does not want to move towards a realistic proposal. There are members who are gradually considering preparing for actions and, if necessary, wish to join in with possible actions by fellow unions.
Millions go to shareholders and this seems to be at the expense of those who make the profit possible. This is increasingly perceived as “unsellable”. In addition to reducing work pressure and an option to retire early, members believe that a structural wage increase within a 12-month contract should be at least between 4,5 and 5%. The members wish the negotiating delegation every success.
Unity is power, but it takes some effort to keep the employee front closed. As it stands now, we want to show on Thursday, February 8, 2024 that we want to be taken seriously. This will take place in Nijmegen during the incoming and outgoing shifts. We encourage members who work day shifts to consider supporting this event.
