NXP Semiconductors: Collective Labor Agreement 2022-2023

October 21, 2022

NXP and the joint employee organizations came closer together in round II on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 (that is also the intention of negotiations). The employer ultimately made an offer that exceeded the agreements in the collective labor agreement for the Metalektro. This can be explained by the fact that we estimate that NXP is also an above-average Metalektro company. A nice step, but is it enough?

The inflation figures indicate that prices have increased by as much as 2021% compared to September 14.5. The government is coming up with measures that should at least moderate the energy component in that inflation. That is also nice, but it is not yet sufficiently clear what will happen, for whom it will provide solace and for how long.

Round III

The negotiators have scheduled a third meeting on Monday, October 31. Can the difference be bridged? Preserving purchasing power and improving purchasing power, these are the goals we strive for. That should be possible, especially at a company like NXP.

Fair sharing, right now

If we are to believe the figures, NXP breaks records and makes very healthy profits: Not in the order of magnitude of millions, but we are talking about billions. That is also good and that is the intention. It would be reasonable and fair for employees, as key stakeholders, to have their share in this as well.

This has always been the case, but right now it is sorely needed. We see that more and more people are finding it harder to make ends meet. The costs of energy are skyrocketing. A quick negotiation result is desired.

Joint employee organizations therefore call on NXP

Make agreements with us that do justice to the commitment shown by the employees. Show that as an employer you stand for your staff, just like the staff stands for NXP (in bad times but also in good times).

First signal Friday 21 October, further signals in preparation if necessary

On Friday 21 October, a circular-with-words-of-similar-intent will be issued to members and non-members who start their working day in Nijmegen and Eindhoven. This is the first signal that the joint unions want to send out and ask for support from members and potential members. We trust that more intrusive signals will not be necessary.
