NN Group: Periodic Consultation Report May 8, 2023

De Unie has regular periodic consultations with NN. We discuss the state of affairs at the company, such as reorganizations and the operating result, we discuss the details of the collective labor agreement and prepare the next collective labor agreement.

Cao pilot

One of the agreements that still needs to be worked out is the agreement to carry out a pilot among employees in less future-proof positions. The purpose of the pilot is to investigate how employees in these positions can best be helped to find a future-proof position. It is known from various activities that this will decrease in the coming years. An example are closed book functions, but also activities that can be automated relatively easily. Employees in these positions now have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills required for other more future-proof positions through retraining. Many colleagues use this, but others do not yet. The parties to the collective labor agreement want to ensure that fewer employees leave through compulsory redundancy. It would also be nice if employees who earn a salary above the maximum of their scale could be promoted with support so that their prospects improve.

Peakon research

NN conducts the Peakon survey twice a year. With this survey, the company measures the engagement of employees at NN. In fact, you measure the health of the labor relations at NN. The survey is conducted by asking employees to complete a questionnaire. It is a comparative study. The result indicates whether NN is doing better or worse than an international benchmark. Moreover, you can measure the developments of your own organization well.

The results of November 2022 were discussed in the periodic consultation. The average score is 7,9, in 2021 the score was 7,7, in 2020 it was 7,9. The results on the subjects Autonomy, Personal growth and Organizational Fit are positive and above the benchmark. These are subjects that measure how well employees fit in with the organization and how well they value the organization. The topics Strategy and Process Efficiency score slightly lower. This also applies to the Accomplishment topic, which measures whether employees feel valued.

The next Peakon survey will be conducted in the period from 5 to 19 June 2023.

Preparation of collective bargaining

The NN collective labor agreement expires on December 31, 2023. Negotiations will start after the summer. De Unie wants to start preparing in time. In consultation with the executives of De Unie we are preparing a survey in which the members can participate. Members will receive this survey in the week of May 15, 2023.

Retirement

On 10 May, trade unions held consultations with Pensioenfonds ING (PFI). We have two topics on the agenda:

  • The indexation for the year 2022, De Unie is not satisfied with the indexation decision of the board. Trade unions, employers and the pension fund have gone a long way in searching for a solution to enable higher indexation for active employees. I have called for this consultation to be resumed.
  • The possible consequences of the Future Pensions Act for PFI. These are preliminary consultations because the law still has to be discussed in the Senate.
