NN Group: report periodic consultation 28 September 2022

Are you eligible for compensation in the new pension scheme? We explain to you how it is. The maximum severance payment from the social plan has also been reduced. Are you involved with this? Do wages have to be raised extra because of inflation?

De Unie has regular periodic consultations with NN. Various topics can be on the agenda, such as elaboration of collective labor agreements, current developments at NN Group and questions from members of trade unions. This report of the periodic consultation of 28 September 2022 contains the most important topics for discussion.

Execution of pension agreements

In recent months De Unie worked with NN on the introduction of the new pension scheme and communication on this subject. You have now received an invitation to participate in a webinar. The webinar is being recorded. If none of the times offered fit into your agenda, you can at least look back.

An important part of the pension agreement is the compensation scheme. This compensation scheme is calculated individually for everyone. Incidentally, not everyone is eligible for compensation, if you do not suffer any damage as a result of the transition to the flat premium scale, you are not eligible for this. Would you like an explanation of the scheme, or of its effect on you personally? Then use the option to schedule an individual meeting with an AON expert. For many members, the compensation scheme is financially a considerable amount. It is certainly worth checking whether the agreements are carried out correctly.

The compensation is an extra compensation that you receive because you will accrue less pension with the flat premium scale. Therefore, consider using the compensation to build up a pension, because that is what it is intended for.

ABN-AMRO Insurance

De Unie has been informed about the organizational change at ABN-AMRO Insurance. The life branch of this joint venture has been taken over by NN-Groep. The division will be merged with NN Leven.

Text social plan and collective labor agreement

In recent months, a lot of work has been done on the new CLA text and the new social plan text. These will be published shortly. The social plan will be amended as of 1 January 2023. The maximum severance payment will be reduced. This can also have consequences for employees who make use of the voluntary departure scheme (formerly LVE). A transitional arrangement has been included in the social plan, whereby voluntary severance packages that were granted in 2022 but will be implemented in 2023 still fall under the old maximum provision. If you are involved in this, make sure that you have completed the procedure in time (no later than December 2022).

Emergency fund NN

At the request of De Unie we talked about the help that NN offers if employees threaten to get into financial difficulties. Inflation is extremely high and this is a cause for concern. Also with De Unie Many messages come from members that they are using their savings. I, advocate Inge de Vries, drew attention to this from NN and emphasized that it is also important that NN helps preventively.

NN has an emergency fund, which employees can call on if they notice. The emergency fund works on the basis of anonymity, your application is assessed by a professional external body. The board of the emergency fund does not know to whom they offer the support. The implementation of the support also takes place outside NN.

NN has deposited an additional amount in the emergency fund. Help from the emergency fund can include: interest-free loan, budget coaching, financial advice and, if necessary, a gift.

Of course I would have liked NN to be prepared to grant all employees a one-off amount, or an additional structural salary increase this year. Unfortunately, that willingness is not there.
