Negotiations collective labor agreement MITT

On November 16, 2022, we talked about developments in the sector, at the companies and employees in the MITT. We started negotiating on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. The commitment letter from De Unie and those of the other trade unions have been explained to the employers. Employers do not have a commitment letter, but a top three priorities, namely wage, minimum wage and Generation Pact. They want to come to a new collective labor agreement quickly and conclude it with us for a period of one year. Subjects that fall outside their top three can be included in study agreements.

In concrete terms, employers offer a structural wage increase of 5,0% for 12 months and 7,5% for 18 months. Please note that this only applies to the wages that fall within the collective labor agreement wage scales and not the wages actually paid that fall outside them. Furthermore, the youth wage for young employees aged 20 and the article in the collective labor agreement on piece wages will lapse.

Employers want to introduce a Generation Pact scheme of 80% work for 80% wages and 100% pension accrual. The 80% wage can be increased with available age days, but this is to be determined by employers and employees in the MITT companies.

What do you think?

I would like to hear a response from De Uniemembers on proposals from employers. What do you like about it and what would you like to see different? What arguments can I use in the next round of negotiations? Do you think we should quickly reach a collective agreement result or not? Send me your opinion emanuel.geurts@unie.nl or call me on 06-5252 2074. I'm curious!
