Metal and Technology: the vote on the collective labor agreement has started!

14 August 2024

On Friday, August 9, 2024, we informed the members that an agreement has been reached on a new collective labor agreement for Metal and Technology. We have achieved our goal. The employers have agreed to come up with a better offer than was originally on the table. This resulted in an extra negotiation day and a collective labor agreement. Now it is up to the members to cast their votes on this agreement.

The vote is open until Monday September 9.

The most important points of the agreement are as follows:

  • Duration: 22 months, from April 1, 2024.
  • Income: As of July 1, 2024, actual wages will be increased by 7%. Subsequently, an additional increase of €1 gross will take place on March 2025, 100. Finally, wages will be increased again by 1% as of October 2025, 3.
  • RVU (Early Retirement Scheme): The current arrangement will be continued until the end date, with the agreement to continue it if the government continues the tax exemption.
  • Sustainable employability: During the term of the new collective labor agreement, committee agreements will be made to investigate what measures are necessary to keep employees healthy and fit until their retirement age.
  • Extension of current schemes: All existing arrangements will be continued.

Unfortunately, a number of our wishes for high-quality agreements, such as arrangements regarding working from home, travel allowances and the deletion of Article 52, were not successful in the negotiations. Ultimately, the emphasis was on maintaining purchasing power for employees. With the agreed wage increases we have been able to compensate for a significant part of the inflation of recent years.

You can sign the entire collective labor agreement here read through.

We would like to thank everyone for their support and efforts during the recent strike. This involvement has contributed to this positive result.
