Metal and Technology: input for preparing collective labor agreement negotiations

May 23, 2025

The term of the current collective labor agreement is from April 1, 2024 to January 31, 2026. Negotiations on a new collective labor agreement for the Metal and Technology sector will start in the fall. De Unie wants to start well prepared. That is why we start by collecting input from employees.

Your opinion is valuable – with employee input we can continue to improve

A collective labor agreement does not come about by itself. What is achieved at the negotiating table depends on what employees find important. Your input helps us to make proposals that are in line with the practice on the work floor.

Share your thoughts on the collective labor agreement: what do you think about these topics?

  1. Pay raise
  2. Leave of absence
  3. Sustainable employability
  4. Informal care

In order to get a good picture of what is going on among the employees, we will start with a short survey on the mentioned subjects. We will use the results as input for the upcoming discussions with the employers' delegation of the Metal and Technology sector. The members have now received an invitation to fill in the poll. This allows them to give their opinion on the discussed subjects. This can be done until June 12, 2025.

Based on the results of the poll, we will draw up a draft proposal letter. We will then present this to the members with a Complete or Extra membership, asking them to agree. After approval by the members, we will send the final proposal letter to the employer delegation, in preparation for the negotiations. The most important topic this time is wages. That is why we will start with that. The other topics will follow, in the order mentioned above.
