Metal and Technology: Feedback on the first poll on wages

June 16, 2025

A collective labor agreement is not created without effort. What we can achieve at the negotiating table depends on what employees find important. Without broad input, we cannot formulate proposals that really connect with what is going on in the workplace. That is why we started holding polls.

First, we asked our members to fill out a poll on wages in recent weeks. Fortunately, they did so en masse, thanks for that!

Most members indicate that they are satisfied with the last pay rise, but about a quarter of the responses show dissatisfaction. We see this as an important signal: satisfaction with previous increases does not necessarily mean that one can agree with the current pay proposal.

The expectation regarding the wage increase in the new collective labor agreement is clear: people want at least an inflation correction, but many feel that this is not enough and expect a real improvement in purchasing power.

Comments and additional signals

Although this poll focused on wages, members also gave their views on other topics. As announced in our previous newsletter, we will also consult members on other topics in the coming weeks. These are:

  • Leave of absence
  • Sustainable employability
  • Informal care

Poll about leave

This time we ask the members three questions about leave. We will use the input again to determine our proposals for the new collective labor agreement. The members have received an invitation to fill in the poll. This can be done until June 22, 2025.

Continuation

In our next message we will ask members for their opinion on sustainable employability. In addition, we will announce the results of the leave poll. In this way, we will work together on proposals for the new collective labor agreement Metal and Technology.
