First of all, thanks to all members who cast their votes. The collective labor agreement negotiations were hectic and intensive. The final result was received with mixed feelings by the members. Some members are positive and some members are negative. This is in line with the reactions I received during the collective labor agreement negotiations.

Even then, feelings about the progress of the talks differed. For a trade union, it is important to be able to represent all members. And for a company like ING, that means that De Unie, given the diverse composition of the membership, has a nuanced answer.
First result
Tuesday 7 January 2025 started with the most important announcement. A large part of the members think it is very important that De Unie remains at the collective labor agreement table, we are happy with this in De Unie trust placed.
In the meantime, ING has been able to announce that a collective labor agreement has been reached. This means, for example, that you can expect the payment of the one-off payment of 1.500 euros gross this month.
The comments on the voting forms also show that many members greatly appreciate the efforts of De Unie to create the best possible ING collective labor agreement. This appreciation certainly also concerns the efforts of the executives who worked very hard at the negotiating table or behind the scenes.
A majority in favor or not?
In the message of Tuesday 7 January 2025 we did not indicate what percentage of voters were in favour and what percentage voted differently. This information is usually shared directly with the members, and of course we would have liked to do that on Tuesday as well. However, the number of voters in favour and voters against was very close together. And the group that voted blank is also large. Because members also indicated that they voted in favour or blank despite their objections, we were able to indicate that there is little enthusiasm for this collective labour agreement. And that does not detract from the opinion of the members who do indicate that they are happy with this collective labour agreement. This is also a large group and this opinion is also expressed by De Unie transferred to ING.
Opinion of the board of De Unie
Given the importance of this collective labor agreement, Inge de Vries, our advocate at ING, discussed the outcome of the vote with the board of De Unie. That took some extra time. The board has taken note of the results of the vote and the voting explanations. The conclusion of the board is that, although there is a very narrow majority against, the ING collective labor agreement will be signed.
The members who voted in favour of the collective labour agreement were in the minority, 45,9% of the votes cast were positive about the negotiation outcome.
A slightly higher percentage of voters expressed a negative opinion, 46,3%, and 7,8% of the votes were blank.
