ING: Sign the petition

October 18, 2022

De Unie has successfully compiled a white paper and presented it to the ING management, thanks to the efforts of its members. We carried out this action together with CNV Vakmensen. The white paper certainly impresses ING, but we are not yet seeing immediate results in the form of a significantly better opening bid for the structural salary increase. Of course we want to achieve that quickly. The current collective labor agreement runs until 31 December 2022. This means that we only have ten weeks left to draw up a collective labor agreement.

Join now for free light De Unie. Then you will always be the first to know about ING news!

Petition text

The Dutch petition text is:

We live in exceptional times, the world around us is changing faster than ever. Unprecedented inflation continues to erode our purchasing power. At the same time, ING is demanding more and more commitment and flexibility from us. We delivered and continue to deliver. Thanks in large part to our efforts, ING's financial performance has remained profitable during difficult economic times and the outlook is nothing short of excellent. So good, in fact, that ING can afford to pay out significant additional amounts to shareholders in addition to the regular dividend in the coming years.

As a reward we got:

  • Two years the zero line
  • Savings on fringe benefits
  • And an ever-increasing workload

And now ING offers only a 2% structural salary increase. This does not show any appreciation from ING for us and our work. We feel left out in the cold as a result. We want ING to take its responsibility now.

By means of this petition we are asking ING for a structural increase in salaries and salary scales in order to restore and maintain our purchasing power.

English translation

The text of the petition is also available in Dutch:

We live in extraordinary times, the world around us changes more rapidly than ever. An unprecedented inflation diminishes our purchasing power. At the same time ING expects more effort and flexibility from us. We've delivered on those demands and kept at it. Largely thanks to our exertions ING has done well and kept making a profit in these economically challenging times, and the company's financial prospects are excellent. So good even, that ING can afford to pay out substantial extra amounts to its shareholders, in addition to the regular dividend.

Our rewards for this:

  • Zero wage increase for two years
  • Cutbacks on other benefits
  • And a continuous increase of our workload

And now ING is offering a meagre 2% rise on our wages. This does not show any appreciation from ING for us and our work. We feel left out in the cold. We want ING to take its responsibility now.

By means of this petition we request ING to structurally increase the salaries and salary scales to repair and retain our purchasing power.

What else can you do?

ING asks you to complete the OHI (Organisational Health Index) survey. This is an important policy instrument for ING. Of course you fill in this OHI survey truthfully. Logically, the researchers expect that, in a company where there is so much dissatisfaction with the way in which the staff is treated, the questions that test company loyalty will be answered lower than in previous years. An open question was included at the end of the survey. The question: “Would you like to say something else? Let us know." invites you to vent about what is bothering you at ING.
