ING: Excellent fourth quarter results

Nice quarterly figures ING

On Thursday, February 2, 2023, ING published the figures for the fourth quarter of 2022. They did not lie. Gross profit increased by 600 million euros (a plus of 27%) compared to a year earlier. And that despite a substantial loss (more than 300 million) at Group Treasury. For 2023, ING dares to announce that revenues will increase by more than 10%.

The shareholders benefit fully from the good course of business and see the dividend for 2022 also increase by 27% to € 1,28 per share. After paying out 14 billion euros in the last five years, extra payments are also being promised, so that on balance more is spent than profit is made. This was also the case in 2022: 4,8 billion to shareholders with a profit of 3,7 billion.

And the employees?

De Unie believes that employees should also be rewarded for ING's good results. After all, they ensure that the profit has increased again. ING thinks differently about this. ING distributes all profits (and more) to the shareholders, you have to bear your loss of purchasing power due to high inflation yourself. De Unie finds this difference in treatment distressing. The collective labor agreement negotiations have stalled on this.

Employee meetings

De Unie organizes information meetings together with the other trade unions. During these meetings you can ask questions about the collective bargaining. We also discuss what the next steps are for trade unions and how you can contribute to this. And we would love to hear your ideas and your opinion. Hundreds of colleagues have already participated in the first two online meetings. The next online meeting is Tuesday February 7 at 16.00 p.m. After that there are two more physical meetings, one in Amsterdam and one in Leeuwarden. De Unie calls on the employees to be present. A large turnout is an important signal to ING.

Data

We organize meetings for all employees on the following dates:

February 7, 16.00 p.m. – 17.30:XNUMX p.m. digitally
