ING: Not my collective labor agreement!

April 21, 2023

Action April 24, 2023, not my collective labor agreement. De Unie calls on members to be present in front of Cedar B on 24 April at 12.30 pm. We want to send a clear message to the ING management and to all colleagues: This is not our collective labor agreement.

Join now De Unie. You can do that from €0!

So if you work in Amsterdam, come to the office on April 24 and make sure you are in front of Cedar B at 12.30:XNUMX. Bring your own markers or felt-tip pens and a roll of tape. We have posters on which you write your message about the collective labor agreement. The goal is to distribute as many posters in Cedar as possible. We want the message: Not finding my collective labor agreement for days.

Are we stopping the collective labor agreement with this?

We have to be honest about that. We are not stopping the collective labor agreement with this. But we do make it clear to ING's management that they now have a collective labor agreement without support. In which ING employees do not recognize themselves and in which they feel that their interests have not been represented. It is the first step towards new negotiations. Because what ING has done now must never happen again. A collective labor agreement is only good and future-proof if the employees support it. ING may not strive for a collective labor agreement in which a minimum number of employees recognize themselves.

Then why are we doing this?

What we have built together in recent months has brought us here. We must not forget where we come from. Through all the actions we have collectively taken good steps together. We have all made ourselves strong and sent a clear signal. We need to keep that signal. We are laying a foundation here for future negotiations.

A collective bargaining agreement is reached, but it does not stop there.

  1. There are periodic consultations and working groups in which we influence the details of agreements in the collective labor agreement.
  2. There is a pension discussion coming up where important decisions have to be made with impact for everyone.
  3. A social plan must be negotiated again next year.
  4. This is followed by the new collective labor agreement negotiations.

By continuing to send out the signal now, we make it clear that ING still has work to do in the follow-up process.

Can everyone participate in this?

Yes, all ING employees can participate in this promotion. De Unie calls on the members in Amsterdam. But all colleagues are welcome to express their dissatisfaction.

Is this a strike?

No, we are not calling a strike. This is an action for Amsterdam. In the future we also want to organize employees in the other locations.

I don't work in Amsterdam, what can I do?

Turn on your internal mail absence reporter on April 24 with the following message:

I'm at work, but I'm not available today.

ING has concluded a new collective labor agreement. This collective agreement is not my collective agreement. I feel that my interests have not been represented. I regret that.

I'll be back for you tomorrow.

Does this mean that our members are not allowed to vote on the final offer at all?

No it doesn't mean that. We will also put the final offer to the vote. Through our survey, 2/3 of the members have indicated that they agree with our strategy by not yet submitting the final offer in order to continue the action path.

We also received feedback from members, the action committee and during our online meeting this morning for next Monday's action. The majority believes that we should send a clear signal on Monday. We will then put the final offer to the vote. We do this because there is a new situation now that the other unions have accepted the final offer. We asked our members for feedback at every step in this process and determined our steps based on that. We will continue to do so in this way.

What can you do now?

Forward this message to your colleagues.

Come to Cedar B on April 24 (with markers and tape) or turn on your absence detector on April 24.
