ING: Announcement 9 December 2022 and 20 December 2022

December 08 2022

As you know, the collective labor agreement process at ING is at an impasse. Together with you and your colleagues, we have shared your concerns with ING in various ways. When the ING management received the petition, it sounded promising, but unfortunately it was just words. ING has not yet changed its offer, views and attitude. As trade unions, we deeply regret this. As you know, on December 1, 2022, we issued a request for intervention to Hans Wijers (chairman of the Supervisory Board). Unfortunately, no response has been received yet.

Past experiences

Friday 9 December is again reserved as a possible negotiation date for the collective labor agreement. However, experiences with the previous collective labor agreement have taught us that a position taken by ING at the negotiating table does not change. Arguing, discussing, talking to each other, it doesn't help. That is why trade unions emphasize the importance of a good starting offer from ING. This does not detract from the fact that we as trade unions, together with you and your colleagues, want to continue to make visible efforts to make ING realize that they need to change their attitude.

December 9

The collective bargaining table has an independent (external) chairman. We have asked him to investigate in his role whether there is sufficient basis to reach a collective agreement. It is important for trade unions to know whether ING wants to get moving so that there can still be a basis for formal discussions with each other, or whether we must jointly conclude that this basis is currently lacking. This is a crucial moment for the parties to the collective labor agreement. If it turns out that we cannot come together at the negotiating table, we will have to do this through other means.

Action build-up 20 December

Although a solution along the lines of the consultations is currently also being worked on, we must also take into account that negotiations will not bring the solution this year. As trade unions, we have launched all kinds of friendly campaigns to get ING moving. However, we cannot keep requesting kindly. If the clear message from the employees, intervention from the Supervisory Board or the advice from the chairman does not bring a solution, then we must explore less friendly ways.

Christmas Market

However, it is not that far yet. First, we organize a Christmas market on December 20. You can drop by between 11.45:14.15 and XNUMX:XNUMX to hang a personal Christmas message on the ING Christmas tree while enjoying a glass of mulled wine. There is also an opportunity to personally meet the union leaders.
