Wholesale in Building Materials: Cao result

December 01 2022

Together with other trade unions, we have reached a negotiation result for a new collective labor agreement for employees in a wholesale trade in building materials. A result has been agreed with the employers (Hibin) that only concerns duration, income and travel expenses.

The social partners agreed that an agreement on wage development should be reached quickly. The employees within the sector also notice that everything has become more expensive. That is why we have come to the conclusion that something has to be done now. That is why we have refrained from talking extensively about other topics for now.

What has been agreed?

  1. Duration of 1 year, from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023
  2. wage increases:
    – As of January 1, the actual salaries and pay scales will be increased by € 50.
    – An increase of 1% as of 2,5 January
    – As of July 1, an increase of 2%
  3. Every company must introduce a travel expenses scheme as a compensation for the high travel expenses. Companies are free to organize these wishes, but in consultation with the Works Council, employee representatives or the employees.

All other topics are certainly not off the table, but we would like to discuss them further during the term of this collective labor agreement. This includes the following topics;

  1. Generation Pact Scheme (80-90-100)
  2. Pensions
  3. Mobility including travel expenses scheme
  4. Job and salary structure
  5. Contracts (flexible)
  6. Sustainable employability
  7. Special (statutory) leave

We present this result neutrally to the members. Due to the € 50, - where your salary is structurally, so not once, increased and the percentage wage increases, you end up with an average wage increase of more than 6%. In addition, a long-cherished wish is being realized that there will now be a travel expenses scheme for everyone.

Ultimately, the members determine whether this result is sufficient. The members have received an invitation to vote through December 8 so that the companies also have time to adjust your January salary accordingly.
