dnata: Cao update

January 12 2023

We took out everything that's in it at the table. We have conducted several rounds of negotiations. We did this in good harmony and both dnata and the unions worked hard to come to an agreement. Unfortunately, we did not reach a negotiation result. We had hoped that dnata could at least offer what we have said together is the absolute minimum, but this turns out not to be possible. dnata's last offer was not enough. Now it's up to you to make yourself heard. What do we do? Are we going to put the employer's offer to the vote and still hope for a deal, or are we sticking to our minimum demand and issuing an ultimatum? Make yourself heard as a member and also bring your colleagues who are not members. Together we determine what we are going to do.

We will explain the possibilities and the consequences during the canteen meeting at Tuesday 17 January from 13:00 – 14:00 and from 15:00 – 16:00.

What's on the table now?

  • Duration 12 months, running from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023.
  • A structural salary increase of € 180 gross per month as of April 1, 2023 with full-time employment.
    • By way of explanation, the increase of € 180 gross per month has been translated into percentages for the various salary scales in the table below.

  • A one-off payment of € 300 net per April 2023 for full-time employment
  • Doing a pilot 'working 36 hours and 8 hours shifts' at a representative operational department. Right to inaccessibility during a rest period after an evening and/or night shift and during a holiday or a day off. Current pilots are ongoing.
  • Clarification of the Generation Pact scheme (ORT/ CDT).
    • The current collective labor agreement text of the generation pact scheme can be read and interpreted in various ways. This applies in particular to the payment of the CDT. The collective labor agreement text will therefore be clarified and amended. The 80-90-100 will be applied as follows in the future:
      • 80% working
      • 90% of the base salary that applied immediately prior to the commencement date of participation in the Generation Pact
      • 90% of the original CDT percentage which applied immediately prior to the commencement date of participation in the Generation Pact
      • 100% pension accrual

Not 80% of the CDT originally enjoyed, as it is now sometimes practiced.

  • Reimbursement of parking costs. Should the parking costs of employees lapse in the future, dnata will make agreements with trade unions about a possible different use of the current allowance of € 8 per month.
  • Periodic medical examination / PAGO will be applied in 2024 anyway, even if it has not yet been introduced across Schiphol Airport.
  • Job Rating ORBA: dnata is updating the job rating. Trade unions are informed and involved in determining the new job evaluation and its influence on group boundaries.
  • The employer's contribution for trade unions will be increased in 2023 from € 15 to € 17,50.
  • New employees receive an information brochure about the trade unions in their introductory folder from dnata.
  • As an employer, dnata will participate in the discussions regarding the creation of a sector collective labor agreement for air freight.

How does it look De Unie this bid?

As unions and dnata, we have reached agreement on all points except wages. For example, we had to leave the RVU behind, May 5 as a day off. On the other hand, the workload was of the utmost importance to our members, we are going to take further steps with the 36-hour pilot, the generation pact is important and we have agreed on this as we wanted, we think it is important that the job classification system is modernized and that we as trade unions have a part to play in ensuring that it is done the right way. We are positive about these parts. We are not satisfied with wages. That is why we do not believe that we can accept this as a negotiating result. It's up to you to decide what we're going to do. Can we agree to this because it is close enough and we have achieved enough on all other points? Then we put it to the vote. If you believe that we absolutely cannot submit this, then we must take other steps together. On Tuesday we will both discuss the options and make a choice together.
