Retirement

Before the summer of 2023, employer and employee organizations in the hospitality and contract catering industry have taken an important step by reaching a provisional agreement on a new pension scheme. In September, the members and boards of CNV Vakmensen, De Unie, FNV Horeca, FNV Catering, Koninklijke Horeca Nederland and Veneca agreed to this innovation. This new scheme must come into effect from 1 January 2025 and replaces the current pension scheme.

In the renewal, the solidarity pension contract was chosen, a more personal pension while retaining items that are borne together. This is of great importance for employees in the hospitality and contract catering industry and also for those who have already retired. This includes protecting pension benefits for retirees, exemption from premium payments in the event of total disability and joint investing. What is new is that there will be coverage for the survivor's pension for every employee. The pension premium remains low and employers receive maximum relief thanks to the wage declaration chain.

The new pension scheme will be introduced in accordance with the rules of the new Pension Act. The aim is to transfer everything accrued under the current pension scheme to this new scheme, which is in the interest of everyone. Agreements on the new scheme will be further refined in the coming weeks, both between the social partners involved and with Pensioenfonds Horeca & Catering. Compensation is also taken into account if the transition to the new statutory system would be negative for the expected pension. Employer and employee organizations are happy with the support received and look forward to finalizing the agreements and the introduction of the new pension scheme as of January 1, 2025.

RVU

Since the start of the Early Retirement Scheme (RVU) in April 2021, 437 employees have applied for the RVU. After a check on the conditions and required documents, 2023 applications for the RVU have been approved until September 205. There is still one application that is only waiting for a signed employer's statement for final approval. On this website find more information about the RVU.

Inflight consultation

On Tuesday, October 31, trade organizations will again have an inflight meeting with Veneca and HR directors Dionne Vorst of KCS and Carmen Rodriguez of Gate Gourmet.

CLA negotiations

The current collective labor agreement expires on April 1, 2024 and we want to be able to present a new collective labor agreement to our members. The dates for the negotiations have already been scheduled. We are already informally exploring the possible topics and will formally start negotiations on January 16, 2024. I assume that we can discuss the result at the catering conference on April 15, 2024.
