Status of collective labor agreements
The contract catering sector has three collective labour agreements, namely the employment conditions collective labour agreement, the RVU collective labour agreement and the funds collective labour agreement. The employment conditions collective labour agreement and the RVU collective labour agreement, both with a term of 1 April 2024 - 31 December 2025, have been declared generally binding. The funds collective labour agreement with a term of 1 January 2023 - 31 December 2025 has already received the generally binding declaration.
Protocol agreements
There were a few protocol agreements that needed to be further elaborated during the term of the collective labor agreement. One of these is to give substance to the situation of extraordinary leave and its application to stepchildren and stepparents. Employers have proposed a text that regulates extraordinary leave for the employee towards stepparents or stepchildren provided that they are or are living at the same address as the employee. Trade unions discuss this text proposal among themselves and will come back to employers. So to be continued.
Another protocol provision concerns the roster system, specifically for inflight. The intention was to translate the planning into rosters/occupancy, but the pilot is on hold. In about six months, the inflight employers will get back to us.
The protocol provision on sustainable transport for commuting in the inflight was discussed between trade unions and employers in December 2024. KCS has conducted a study into the possibilities for making commuting more sustainable and Gate Gourmet is working on it. KCS has provided the trade unions with insight into the research results. KCS sees opportunities to entice employees to leave their cars at home and to choose public transport and/or cycling more often. KCS wants to do this by increasing the mileage allowance for cycling and public transport from 21 cents to 23 cents per kilometre. Carpooling becomes more attractive if all passengers receive the allowance. Trade unions will consult with each other about this proposal before responding to the employers.
RVU
The Early Retirement Scheme (RVU) started in April 2021. Since the start, 585 employees have applied. After a check on the conditions and required documents, 2024 applications for the RVU have been approved up to and including November 268. There are six applications that are still waiting for a signed employer's declaration for a final award.
Do you want to stop working earlier? Do you fall under the collective labor agreement for contract catering and are you a maximum of 36 months before your AOW date? Then you can apply for an RVU benefit. The benefit period of the RVU is a maximum of 36 months and there is no minimum period. Do you want to know more about the RVU?
