Future collective labor agreement for contract catering

The current collective labor agreement for Contract Catering, including Inflight, expires on December 31, 2025. Because several members of the Veneca employers' association have canceled their membership effective January 1, 2026, Veneca can still conclude a new collective labor agreement, but can no longer ensure that it applies to all companies and employees in the sector. This process is officially called "declaring it generally binding" via the Minister of Social Affairs and Employment.

Employers and unions are discussing the effects and their perspectives on the future of the collective bargaining agreement. The fact is that it will certainly not remain as it is. Alternatives and possibilities (or impossibilities) will be further explored and discussed.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with any further information at this time. We will inform you as soon as the situation after January 1, 2026, is clearer. However, the advocate is interested in your opinion and any questions you may have. Please let him know via emanuel.geurts@unie.nl? Thank you in advance!

RVU

The Early Retirement Scheme (RVU) launched in April 2021 and expires on January 1, 2026, in accordance with the Contract Catering collective labor agreement and the RVU Act. Since the scheme's inception, 670 employees have applied. After reviewing the conditions and required documents, 2025 RVU applications have been approved up to and including August 310. Five applications are still awaiting a signed employer's statement for final approval. As of September 5, 1, no new applications can be submitted. The current RVU expires on January 2025, 1. This will not affect current users; they will remain covered by their current RVU.

Research into publication certainty

It's not without reason that the Trade Union Federation for Professionals (VCP) consistently draws attention to middle-income groups. The research aligns with our perception that middle-income groups often suffer. Employees are experiencing increasingly less control over their income and expenses. The lack of a deal in the fight against inflation is partly to blame for this," says VCP chairman Nic van Holstein, in response to the worrying picture from the recent research by De Unie.
